I earned my 1st money! Real life drowning case!

Yes, if I'm not mistaken today is the 1st day I earned money. Last time when I worked for my family business, I earned money from my family, and can a little bit manja with the family, so I consider that's not the money I fully earned or deserve. This morning I went to teach swimming for an hour, which earned me RM20.00! Even though it's not a big amount, but I'm happy because I deserved it. I woke up early in the morning, walked to the pool, sacrificed my skin under the hot sun, teaching 8-9 school kids and I earned the lovely RM20.00. Happy~~ Well, the money can make me survive for another... 3 days probably.

Somehow I wish to earn more money by my own and less depends on my mama. Since I can't work full time out there, teaching swimming is another alternative, and I love teaching swimming too. I can experience a lot of things. Such as this morning, I experienced a real life situation. Before this I never believe my captain's words "victims can drown in shallow water too". After this morning I believe he's right!

This is the story... A girl is panic of the water. After a few kicks with a kicking board, she start screaming in fear that she might not balance herself and the depth of the water (even though she can stood at there). Followed by screaming was struggling. When I see her like that I quickly swim to her and tried to tow her back to the very shallow end. But once I approached her, she grabbed me all around, grabbed my swimming cap, pulled my hair, push me down so she can break the surface (actually she's on the surface), I was kinda drowned but life saving skills (or swimming skills) saves me. I didn't kick her away as life saving thought because I'm afraid she's still a small kid and might drank a lot of water, so I just tow her back "underwater". After that I stood up, the water level is about at my waist, her leg was around my waist and the hand still holding my head (like a koala bear hugging a tree), now she's above the water level, a lot I mean, but she still screaming and struggling, holding my hair so thight. Wahahahahaha~~~

In those life saving practices and exams, we use "professional" victims as our partners, who knew how to perform, swims and acts well! But this is the 1st real life situation. I felt how the life savers save "real" drowning victims. I was a lil bit afraid by that time, it's human life! But my so-so swimming skills convinced me that I can do it.

So here's an advice for the people who read my blog. If you're not a good swimmer or life saver, please DO NOT attempt to save anyone who's drowning. They might drag you down and both of you just say bye bye to the world. For life savers, if you don't have confidence to save a struggling victim, either kick him/her away, let him/her struggle for a while, drink some water, waste the energy, and after that it's time to save!

Thanks to swimming skills and life saving course. After today's situation I love life saving more~ :P
